The Pre-Wedding Shoot of Umar & Kiran in Ilmenau
Umar and Kiran both come from Pakistan – and they share not only their roots but also their profession. Back home, they worked as journalists; today, they are content creators and part of Deutsche Welle. Their paths first crossed at TU Ilmenau, where they met as international students – first as campus buddies, later as a couple.
Together, they don’t just tell stories – they live one.
The Shoot: Quickly Planned, Deeply Felt
There wasn’t much time for their pre-wedding shoot. And yet, within just 60 minutes, we captured a series of authentic and emotional images – shaped by precision, preparation, and trust.
Location, lighting, and outfits were carefully planned in advance
The photos were taken in the soft evening light around Ilmenau
The look: urban, warm, and personal – with lots of natural movement
Kiran wore a modern interpretation of traditional clothing, while Umar appeared smart and reserved. Together, they created a harmonious style blending cultural roots with modern elegance.
A Moment with Meaning
After the shoot, Umar & Kiran visited the Muslim community in Ilmenau to symbolically affirm their relationship – a personal step before the official "I do." No big ceremony, no stage – just heart.
What Made This Moment Special
A unique blend of journalistic sharpness and emotional depth
Intentional minimalism in both time and setting
Cultural sensitivity in every detail – from decor to symbolism
And most of all: the fact that even in a small town like Ilmenau, stories can unfold that resonate far beyond borders
