Welcome to my photographic journey
Hello! I'm Pavel Chatterjee, a passionate photographer with over 13 years of experience, based in Ilmenau, Thuringia. My camera is my tool for telling stories, capturing emotions, and preserving special moments for eternity.
My path to photography
My photographic journey began with a simple Samsung Corby, but it quickly developed into a deep passion. As a self-taught photographer, I have continually developed and refined my skills. Since 2014, I have been working freelance, specializing in documentary photography, abstract photography, and image processing. My work has been published in Südthüringer Allgemeine, Freies Wort, National Geographic, and Outdoor Photography, among others.
My style & working method
I prefer to work with natural light and in familiar surroundings to create a relaxed atmosphere. Whether outdoors in nature or in my own home, I adapt to the circumstances and always find the perfect setting for authentic shots.
Wedding photography: Where emotions and traditions merge
For me, weddings are more than just an event—they're a kaleidoscope of emotions, colors, and cultural traditions. I'm particularly fascinated by the diversity of Indian weddings, with their vibrant rituals, magnificent gowns, and deeply rooted customs. I love capturing these unique moments—from the bride's gentle smile as she puts on her jewelry to the guests' exuberant dancing during the sangeet night. (Wedding photo link here)
My experience shows that every wedding tells its own story. Therefore, it's important to me to work closely with the couple and their families to understand their individual wishes and cultural characteristics and to capture them authentically. Whether traditional ceremonies or modern celebrations, I always strive to bring the magic of the moment to life in my images.

Pavel Chatterjee is a founder and photographer. With extensive experience, a keen eye for detail, and a flair for capturing special moments, he accompanies projects from the initial idea to the final image.
As a production assistant, Faiz supports the technical implementation, organization, and image selection. He works behind the scenes to ensure everything runs smoothly – before, during, and after the shoot.
Together we form a well-coordinated team with a passion for high-quality, authentic photography.
